About
In 1866 a four-volume set of Audubon's Birds was given to the City of New Bedford which gave them to the Trustees of the New Bedford Free Public Library. In 1997 the New Bedford Art Museum undertook to raise money to preserve these prints by commissioning artists to reinterpret selected prints.
