Book 2 in the Series: The Creator’s Egg. The series is an epic fantasy full of quests, journeys, mystery, intrigue, adventure, war and excitement. The series is set in Opteria, a planet where birds (avians) evolved to a position of dominance in place of the mammals on Earth. These avians are bipedal and have arms with well-developed hands as well as wings. They have full powers of speech and are fully as intelligent as humans. They are indeed, the angels of Opteria.
After the triumphant mission to recover the Swords of Freedom, Hesh and the support group travel, as fast as they can, back to Lyde where Falco has established the Fallon Headquarters. Hesh has bonded with the Swords and is keen to turn his attention to the second of the three Talismans – The Orb of Truth.
However, due to pressures of the wars, on all fronts, Hesh has to focus on short term strategies and tactics to slow up the progress of the invaders and push them back if possible. Only after survival of the allies is assured can the stranger turn his attention to the search for the Orb of Truth.
Missions are mounted first in Falland and then in Sphen and in Gall. These are completed by Hesh and selected members of his support group, who carry out attacks on the enemy military camps in all three countries. Hesh uses his powers to the full during these attacks and the result is that the enemies are forced to retreat everywhere. The alien also designs new weapons to create an advantage for the allies to counter the superior numbers of their enemies. Finally, a strategy to neutralize the Drom air force is conceived, planned and executed with Ganet as its commander. The missions and other activities, buy time for the allies and the stranger can now focus on finding the Orb. His first task is to decipher the Scroll found with the Swords of Freedom. This gives a starting point for his search for the second Talisman. The Orb has been protected by a trail of cryptic messages that have to be found and deciphered. Each only leads to the next. With this understanding, Hesh and the support group set out on the quest.
It leads through Anse and then to Gall. The messages are hard to find and harder to understand. The team face many challenges, many dangers and many twists and turns. Hesh has to develop his bond with the Swords to new levels of understanding and cooperation. As a result, the artefacts often provide crucial advice and guidance. Without them the quest would have failed several times over. Finally, the searchers begin to feel that they are reaching the culmination of the quest. But more is to come. Towards the end of the original search, the guardians of the Orb make contact with Hesh and set him an additional task. They tell the stranger that they feel the team has not yet earned the right to find the Talisman. As a result of this task, three Australs join the travelers to accompany them during the rest of the search. Also these Australs will vet their performance and behavior through the challenges to come. When the hiding place of the Orb is finally found, the Talisman has gone. The guardians have removed it because, as a result of the feedback from the Australs, they are concerned about the alien’s fitness to become its next guardian.
Hesh now has to face a final daunting challenge, and the result of the quest depends entirely on this ultimate hurdle.
