The History of Lithuania Before 1795

The English version has been prepared on the basis of the second Lithuanian edition (1998), revised and extended. It covers the period of time from the roots of the Lithuanian nation and state up to the abolition of the Lithuanian state in 1795. In this work special emphasis is put on the most significant moments at different historical periods in the internal and foreign social and political development of the Lithuanian state, explaining the phenomenon of the formation of Lithuanian statehood and showing the process leading to social and political maturity, as well as social, religious and cultural features.
