§ In 1867, Jules studied under Alexandre Cabanel at the École des Beaux-Arts.
§ In 1870, Jules first exhibited at the Paris Salon and in 1874 won a medal for his painting Spring Song.
§ In 1873, he was commissioned to paint the Prince of Wales.
§ After the early death of Jules Bastien-Lepage, an exhibition of his paintings was organized at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Another exhibition followed in 1889 at the Paris Exposition.
§ Auguste Rodin erected a statue of Bastien-Lepage in his hometown of Damvillers.
