About
The Elves and the Shoemaker at Christmas was born out of many nights of bedtime stories. As parents we love reading to our little ones, don’t we? And as our kids go through storytime phases, sometime wanting the same one every night, sometimes wanting different ones, we get a pretty good idea what works. We know which stories are the ones we like reading, which ones have that essential flow. We can see why a story captures our kids’ imaginations – right?
This retelling of one of the most famous Fairytales of all is aimed at children from age 3 to 8 and it was sparked by an idea that came to writer Nigel Booth like the proverbial bolt out of the blue one night at storytime. The original Grimms’ Tale is short, punchy, and crisply told. What it doesn't do is tell us the secret behind the Elves’ magic. And it doesn’t tell us anything about why the Elves chose to help the Shoemaker. Exactly what are those mysterious Elves up to?
Staying close to the timeless style of the classic Brothers Grimm Fairytale, but with a fantastic new ending that will blow your Little One away, why don’t you come with the Shoemaker as he makes an amazing discovery about himself and begins the greatest ride of his life!
With glorious new illustrations by Alonso Cela.
