The author recalls items of Jewish interest, e.g. Robespierre's hostile attitude to the Jewish religion, the Assembly of the Notables, The Sanhedrin, etc. An autobiographical incident is also recorded of the author's arrest in Frankfurt by the French on the charge of being a German spy, and his release.
