The Secret Life of Trees

James Gardner's life hasn't exactly been easy since his parents died and left him in charge of a sixteen year old sister who's just come out of a coma. But he's managing, even if Emma's not exactly making it easy with the way she's been sneaking out every night, meeting someone named Leaf who claims to be a tree spirit.

James' life is complicated enough, even without taking magic into account. He doesn't need the stress of his Empathy or romance with a cranky tree spirit. He just needs his life to be somewhat less hectic and his sister to have a chance to be a normal girl. Is that asking for too much?
