About
In 2008 kwam een groot legaat vanuit de Fillip Foundation naar Museum De Buitenplaats van de Engelse kunstenaar Michael Reynolds (1933-2008). Zijn bekendheid verwierf hij met zijn portretten, maar hij schilderde ook veel landschappen en stillevens. Hij won vele prijzen en kreeg talloze opdrachten. Vanaf 2000 woonde hij tijdens de zomer in Groningen en in de winter in het Italiaanse Perugia. Daarnaast was hij de oprichter van de kunsttentoonstelling The Discerning Eye waar het werk van niet-erkende kunstenaars onder de aandacht werd gebracht. Zijn eigen werk kenmerkt zich door een licht handschrift en mooi kleurenpalet in een figuratieve beeldtaal, waarin veel aandacht is voor stofuitdrukking en gevoel.00Exhibition: Museum De Buitenplaats, Eelde, The Netherlands (07.07.-24.09.2017).
