This study investigates the way teacher/pupil attitudes to writing are formed and how these differing perspectives and expectations affect its development within the junior classroom. The reseach attempts to focus upon historically opposed paradigms regarding knowledge and learning ( ie product v process; didactic v child centred; open v closed) From this location it seeks to identify some of the hidden factors that influence and control the teaching of writing.
