Every few years, the prestigious Seisou Academy holds a prominent musical competition, and only the very best students at the Academy are allowed to participate. All students at the Academy are eligible to apply, but only students from the music department actually make it to the competition...until now.

Kahoko may have a magic violin that gives her some technical ability, but the violin's true magic is only unlocked when Kahoko "feels" the music, something she's having trouble doing in the midst of all the new tension in her life. She's supposed to be getting to know her fellow competitors, but the first stage of the competition is coming soon, and she barely has time to pick her music, let alone make new friends.
