Photography as concept =

Representing a compendium of work by those contemporary artists for whom photography is a means to an end, this book concerns itself with the expanding social, political, and conceptual definitions of photography. Inherent in the book are questions concerning the nature of photography as technological medium, social barometer, and preserver of memory, as well as photography's relationship to video, film, fashion, and mass media. Compiled from the Fourth International Photo Triennial, the book includes work by over 50 artists, from 20 countries.
