This collection of Poetic Words and Images was inspired by the author's years on the Orkney Islands—an archipelago of Islands at Scotland's far North.
In the closing years of the last millennium the author and his family moved from the bustling South of England to these distant and tranquil Scottish Islands. First to a disused croft by the Loch of Harry, then to a former schoolhouse on the tiny Island of Shapinsay. This collection is a record of those years. It will attempt to take the reader on that same journey, set against the background of his own personal view of the the Islands and the folk that he found there.
