About
The author describes the failure to bring to justice those responsible for throwing a grenade into his home's courtyard before dawn on June 21, 1998, the day of local elections in Mali. This event became known as "l'attentat à la grenade." Cissé was serving as vice-president of the regional electoral commission of Ségou. His daughter and a visiting friend died, and eight others including himself were injured. Two days earlier, a manuscript from January 1998 had been published in Les Echos: "Rapport de synthèse des commissions du COPPO de Ségou", describing intended targets and personnel. No one was ever found guilty. Most of the volume consists of reproduced legal documents, correspondence, and other documentation, 1998-2016.
