In December of 2000, 45-year-old Avery is a happily married mother of three and 40-year-old Adele is a happily single local artist. The sisters are in their mother’s kitchen, helping Annabelle prepare for a birthday party, when they receive word that their father is about to be arrested for an unspeakable act.
