Peregrine Quest

This is the story of a naturalist that spent 50 some years studying the peregrine falcon in various of its breeding locations around the world, such as, Utah, Alaska, South America, Australia, Fiji etc. The peregrine is a cosmopolitan species and really is only absent as a breeder from the Amazon and Congo basins, parts of central Asian deserts, a couple of larger islands such as New Zealand and Iceland and islands of the central Pacific Ocean. Because many populations of falcons are migratory the species in reality probably occurs over 80% of the globe at one time or another. The narrative is taken from field notes and relates experiences that took place during those 50 years of global travel. The story tries to integrate the ethics of landscape stewardship into the telling along with information about the falcon itself in various geographic locations.
