O desenho urbano e o envelhecimento populacional

The research contributes to initiatives related to the line of configurational research, including a series of dissertations and theses already defended and 3 comprehensive bibliographies, which address various topics such as geriatrics, sociology, urban planning, psychology and anthropology. Therefore, the idea is in the combination of efforts to better understand the city of Brasilia, specifically the Plano Piloto Asa Sul, the most populated, neighborhood in the Plan Piloto, with a growing aging population. In conclusion, it is proposed to reflect on some aspects of the urban arrangements of the Pilot Plan project, as well as a debate on elements that make the city more friendly to the elderly, including items that impact autonomy and independence, health and well-being, social connectivity and security. The main objective of this work was to obtain data and subsequent evaluation of the impact of urban design, urban planning and/or urban management on the quality of life of the elderly inhabitants of the neighborhood Asa Sul. Thus, it seeks to delineate possible connections between the historical and social moment in which the city was planned and the current conditions of the urban space, to then launch questions and propositions about the impasses and challenges for future planning and the present adaptation of the city to the demands of the elderly population, according to specific legislation
