The Heinemann English Project Text Study

The Heinemann English Project is a series of lively and colourful topic books for Years 7-10 English. Each book is devoted to a theme, skill or approach at the heart of English in Australian classrooms. TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN grapples with John Marsden's immensely popular novel, consolidating students' knowledge of the text before moving into a wide-ranging consideration and discussion of the novel's themes and issues. It provides background information on historical and geographical setting, as well as looking at the life of the author. Individual and group activities are integrated into this text study, as are the language tasks and extension tasks, which take students well beyond the covers of the book.
