The book describes with recipes, photos, tales of well known neapolitans chefs (called "Monzù), documents of the aristocratic families in Naples, research on the coats of arms, etc. an old, sophisticated cuisine which started with Maria Carolina di Borbone, the Queen of the Two Sicilies and ended in the forties of the last century. The kind of cuisine is a merging of neapolitan peasant cuisine with sophisticated french cuisine, when the Queen of the Two Sicilies in 1780 called the french cooks of the sister Marie Antoinette of France to come to Naples and refine the tasty peasant cuisine.
