Asdf: A Novelette

An insight to society's deepest fault, ASDF proves to be today’s Finnegan's Wake by challenging the accepted form of storytelling while depicting contemporary trends in beauty. It is a realistic depiction of the dystopia we have perfected while we travel through the thoughts and observations of the narrator. As layer after layer is peeled, the story confronts what we are told to believe as the narrator travels from scene to scene of the modern world observing and deducing the downfall of itself and man. However, man, now known as the “figures”, considers the inevitable downfall worth sacrificing so long as the quest for beauty is within grasp; letting all else fall by the wayside until physical perfection is reached and society destroyed.
