Contemporary beechwood boards, with title inked on front and back covers in contemporary or early hands, later spine covering removed. Title from colophon. Early ownership inscriptions of Joannes de Liminio and Antonio [?] Guadello, and armorial bookplate of the Rev. John Willliams of Bryntirion. Retains the preliminary blank a1, but lacks the final blank y8.

Probably the third edition, much corrected, following the Rome edition dated 22 March 1474 (Johannes Gensberg for Johannes Aloisius Tuscanus), and an undated Venetian edition of [1474] printed by Johannes de Colonia and Johannes Manthen (described by Victor Scholderer in his ‘BMC’ notes as a reprint of the Gensberg edition. Calphurnius (fol. 171r) refers to the Rome printing as 'corruptos depravatosque', saying that he has emended and corrected it to redeem Calderini's honor. Contains (nonetheless) spurious references intended by Calderini to refute Perotti's justified attack on his scholarship, including an imaginary passage from Pliny the Elder (xiv, 41): see A.
