The combined contributions in this volume show how scientists and scholars of different approaches and methods of archeology, but also from other disciplines to use in order to reach conclusions about the gender roles in prehistoric and early historic times. One of the key related disciplines of prehistory and early history of the Biological Anthropology. In two articles, the latest research on the osteology and bioarchäometrischen methods are presented, with the help of new statements on women and men can be taken in the past. The variety of methods implies a great degree of openness of the archaeological gender studies in relation to other disciplines, such as this volume documents.
