About
It's not easy being different. No one knows that better than 13-year old Tayesha Williams, whose father is Black and mother is white. When Tayesha tries out for a part in the school play, several of her classmates set out to keep her from getting the role simply because they don't like her heritage. It's not easy being different. No one knows that better than thirteen-year old Tayesha Williams, whose father is Black and mother is White. Tayesha has great friends, a loving family, and a good shot at the lead role in the school play. But the shy, sensitive teen also has trouble standing up for herself. So when she finds out that two student judges are plotting to keep her from winning the lead role because of the color of her skin, Tayesha knows she's up against some tough opposition. The school organization NEATE rallies together to help Tayesha fight the injustice, but one member of the closely knit group is acting distant, impatient and downright cruel. Tayesha's trying to be strong, but this is one test she's not sure she can pass.
