Lexi is 17 years old. She's a bright young lady, a talented dancer and, on the surface of everything, appears to have it all..... but she is never heard by her highly critical parents. Anorexia and bulimia become her friends, as she retreats from the world where her father has already labelled her as 'mad'. And on top of this, Lexi realises that she has a dark, horrid secret that even she was unaware of. Silently Screaming To Be Heard begins in the therapist's room. Her therapist, Tyra, is the only person who Lexi feels has ever listened to her and, with her help, Lexi begins a journey of self-discovery of how she ended up in therapy and rebuilding who she would like to be. With a family opposed to therapy and who only attend the sessions to appear to be caring, Lexi has a tough journey ahead but she is determined that, one day, she will have a voice and that she will be heard.
