Nyaminyami was big; he protected the Batonga people. Until one day the Kariba Dam was built and Nyaminyami was very angry. He caused the flood once and again a flood of one thousand years. This traditional Zimbabwean story is based in Victoria Falls where the Kariba dam was built in the late 1950s.
