Gemini is a collection of poems by first time author Robert Ryan. The goal of the author is to bring awareness to the suffering related to mental distress caused by present and/or past personal events; his hope is that these poems will bring some relief to the silently afflicted by letting them know they are not unique in their struggle. The author believes that we all carry baggage , good and bad, from our past and present as conscious and sub-conscious memories; these memories play a part in shaping our outlook on life as well as our character. Some of us are strong enough to be able to choose the memories we wish to suppress, some are not as fortunate and live with a lifetime of struggle while others inadvertently suppress certain memories until they are triggered or until the fragile mind can cope no longer. The inner strength you hold today is not guaranteed to be with you tomorrow; be careful how you judge and label people you do not know; that same label or judgment that you pass upon someone today may be you tomorrow.
