About
Inaugurated in 1977, the Pompidou Center (Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, architects) is now the subject of a renovation campaign. After forty years the "caterpillar" -- the name given to the escalators and the passageways of the west fa©ʹade -- calls for a renovation of its glass envelope whose work will begin at the end of 2018. The engineering firm Elioth, is in charge of the renovation of this fa©ʹade. A large part of the glass would be dismantled, cleaned and then put back in place. This book details their strategy.
