About
A major research project that first started in 2000 and that consisted of an exhibition and the publication of the corresponding catalogue, the organization of a seminar (2000 : Lima, Perú) and the publication of the present anthologies of texts and documents on Viceregal painting. The project was coordinated by the late Mtra. Juana Gutiérrez Haces and included the participation of noted specialists from Spain and Latin America: María Concepción García Sáiz (Museo de América), Juana Gutiérrez Haces (Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas, UNAM), Jesusa Vega (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), Ricardo Estabridis (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos), Teresa Gisbert (Academia Boliviana de la Historia), Rogelio Ruiz Gomar (Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas, UNAM), Jaime Mariaza F. (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos), Ana Elisa Martínez García (artist), Rosa López Torrijos (Universidad de Alcalá), Nelly Sigaut (El Colegio de Michoacán), Óscar Flores Flores (Centro de Enseñanza para Extranjeros, UNAM), and Alexandra Kennedy Troya (Universidad de Cuenca), among others.
