The Sole Survivor

This morning I am as normal as a man can be who is alone on a desert island with no real certainty of being rescued before he starves.” Mr Justice Heilbronn did not enjoy holding the inquiry into the wreck of the Marigonda and its subsequent circumstances. For one thing there was a desert island in it. And then there was that preposterous suggestion about a wild man inhabiting the island. On top of it all there was this sole survivor accusing himself of the moral responsibility for the death of one of the party. A sole survivor; so who or what killed the other six?
