Boven op de berg ligt aan de rand van het Stammenderbos de indrukwekkende hoeve Stammenhof (het huis met het rode dak) ligt, een middeleeuwse boerenhoeve die in 1696 afbrandde en weer werd opgebouwd. De hoeve aan de Stammen is nog steeds in functie (akkerbouw). De huidige hoeve stamt, volgens de muurankers aan de zuidoostzijde, uit 1864. De grote graanschuur is echter uit 1772, terwijl het woonhuis uit 1911 stamt. Er zijn nog enkele oudere onderdelen, zoals een 17e eeuwse kelder en enkele lage poortjes die uitkomen op de binnenplaats. Er is sprake van een aagte. Het woonhuis kent een bloktandversiering. Frappant is dat de grote graanschuur van de Biesenhof ook uit 1772 stamt. De verklaring hiervoor is dat het de landbouw omstreeks 1770 voor de wind ging. De graanopbrengsten waren groot en leverden voldoende financiële armslag om de veelal lemen graanschuren te vervangen door grotere gemetselde schuren. De Stammenhof is een Provinciaal Monument. Een typische Limburgse boerderij in een gesloten carré-vorm (van het typisch Limburgse, gesloten type - zie Etzenrade).
