About
Great strides have been made improving serological screening tests to diagnose Celiac Disease (CD) and in recognizing the heterogenous presentation of CD. However, it is still vastly under-diagnosed. One in five children with CD treated with a gluten free diet may have persistent enteropathy. Current guidelines which encourage the use of serological screening tests to assess mucosal recovery have not been validated and further research to identify accurate biomarkers of mucosal recovery are needed.
