Ingvild's diary

In 1951, a few years following WWII, the first Children's International Summer Village was held in Glendale, Ohio, a small suburb near Cincinnati. A small group of 11-year old children from Mexico, France, England, Austria, Germany, the U.S. and Scandinavia attended a one-month long program designed to increase international understanding. Ingvild, a young girl from Oslo, Norway, was one of those children. While she was there, she wrote about her experiences in a diary, which was published a few years later. Today CISV operates in over 60 countries and since 1951, more than 190,000 people have participated in more than 5000 international activities.
