Orozco

"González Mello's provocative essay questions the original date of the famous Orozco painting 'Despojo Humano' ('Driftwood') in the collection of the Museo Carrillo Gil in Mexico City. The painting is usually considered to have been completed in 1915. If, however, the painting was done around 1926-28, as the author suggests, this would change the traditional interpretation of Orozco's work in relation to the sociopolitical context.
