La metrópoli como espectáculo

Memories gathered during an academic meeting with the purpose of perpetuating at least one part of what has happened during those days of hard work. The theme of this meeting, proposed by Alberto Dallal in the Colegio de Investigadores of the Institute (IIE), was put to the vote; the subject Mexico City won due to the inclination as "chilangos" of many researchers. The papers represent comparative studies, artistic or urban, as well as proposals, rigorous or fabled, about the daily life in the highly complex city, analyzed from different perspectives: artistic, photographic, architectural, social, literary, cinema and urban cultures representations of the capital metropolis, now Mexico, a place Charles Joseph La Trobe baptized as the "City of Palaces", a royal epithet erroneously awarded to baron Alexander von Humboldt.
