Fondateurs pince-sans-rire d'une agence au nom très administratif d'Allgemeine Entwurfsanstalt (Institut de conception générale), Trix et Robert Haussmann déteignent à peine dans le paysage post-dadaïstes zurichois. Formés aux arts appliqués, côtoyant dès les années cinquante certains des maîtres helvétiques du modernisme, on les retrouve pourtant, vingt ans plus tard, auprès des tenants italiens d'un certain postmodernisme ! Adepte d'un éclectisme stylistique expérimenté sur leurs Lehrstücke - pièces didactiques à la croisée de l'architecture, du mobilier et du modèle réduit - et auteur d'un bref " manifeste " pour un Manierismo critico, le couple alterne avec humour les registres et références culturels de ces deux bassins linguistiques...
