BUSHLEADER Safari Guide Training Manual

This is a technical training manual, designed for a trainer or manager within a safari organisation, to deliver to entry-level, or already-employed driver/guides (safari guides), the basic and essential knowledge required to carry out their duties in East Africa and beyond. It is a valuable aid for companies, organisations, and associations in the East African safari tourism industry, who do not have access to professional training institutions. The manual may also form the basis of curricula for those organisations that are developing in this field. Steve Foreman is an experienced safari guide and mountain leader, who was licensed as a Professional Guide by the Botswana Wildlife Institute. He has more that twelve years experience guiding safaris in East Africa, and holds mountain leadership and first aid certificates. In 2001, the Tanzanian Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA) engaged him as an Expert Consultant, to help compile the National Training Curricula for Tour Guides.
