Still Waters Run Deep

The Poetry Today series of anthologies was launched to provide a substantial showcase for today's poets. A permanent record of perception, concern and creativity in our late twentieth century lives. Poetry is a coat of many colours. Today's poets write in a limitless array of styles: traditional rhyming poetry is as alive and kicking today as modern free-verse. Language ranges from easily accessible to intricate and elusive. Poems have a lot to offer in our fast-paced 'instant' world. Reading poems gives us an opportunity to sit back and explore ourselves and the world around us. Today's poetry readers have as varied tastes as the poets who write for them. The poems in this volume complement each other and provide insight into the real life of a society heading for the third millennium.
