About
The autobiography of a Soviet saint. In January 1975 Georgi Vins, a leader of the Reform Baptists in the Soviet Union, was sentenced in Kiev to five years' imprisonment followed by five years exile. He was found guilty of "damaging the interests of citizens under the pretext of religious activity". For forty-five years-- three generations-- the Vins family has suffered bitter persecution for its faith. This unique document is Gerogi Vins's own testimony to the hardships he and his family have undergone for their convictions. His intensely moving chronicle includes his labor camp diary, poems he has written in prison, and brief biographies of other spiritual heroes of modern Russia. - from back of the book.
