About
Canon John O'Hanlon's work is a masterpiece - containing detailed accounts of all the Irish Saints. 12 volumes were intended - one for each month of the year documenting the saints whose feast day appeared during that month. 9 Volumes were published in O'Hanlon''s lifetime - the first going to print in 1873. A tenth volume was published posthumously. Unfortunately, the author did not live long enough to complete the task he had set himself - but thankfully the research on St Patrick was finished and included in Volume 3 (March). This book is a treasure store of information for anyone who wishes to research in depth the ancient Lives, stories and traditoins associated with the great saints of Ireland. A priceless gem of a book - testimony to an amazing man who was an incredible Irish scholar whose work deserves to be edited and made available through a new, contemporary edition.
