Il catalogo della mostra allestita dal 16 novembre 2019 al 16 febbraio 2020 a Firenze, nella sede dalla Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio, è dedicato all'arte di Ottavio Leoni (1578-1630), uno tra i maggiori ritrattisti protobarocchi, e riproduce una selezione del corpus delle sue opere conservate presso l'Accademia "Colombaria". I disegni, realizzati tra il 1609 e il 1629, ritraggono uomini, donne e bambini perlopiù appartenenti alla nobiltà romana, presso la quale l'artista lavorò. "I ritratti di Ottavio Leoni", scrive Sandro Rogari, "si fanno apprezzare per la capacità di rappresentare un mondo e delle gerarchie sociali forti e consolidate, e nello stesso tempo proiettarlo nella contemporaneità grazie ad uno stile grafico incisivo, efficace e di fruibile lettura".
