Persistence Pays

Ramona was told as a young girl that she would never get pregnant without medical help. When she was 23, she married Gerrit. They wanted kids right away, but even with medical help it did not work. They were trying to continue their lives without a child, but years later, the desire to have a kid came gnawing at them and they decided to adopt a child. Because of the inhumane way they were refused at the initial adoption agency, they found their way through to do it on their own. After two months in Kazakhstan, they found themselves eventually winning their fight for a child. Ramona was born in Duffel on May 28, 1967. She has been married since 1991 with Gerrit Vinck and in 2002 they adopted their daughter Selena. Ramona has stopped her career as a bookkeeper to care for her daughter full-time.
