Dok se Pašuka rađao, baš tog dana, njegov je otac u jamu u koju se baca štenad bacio vreću punu nakota kućne kuje Lijepe. I kako to biva u narodnim legendama i porodičnim pričama, kako to, možda, biva i u životu, vremenskim poklapanjem dva događaja izmiješale su se duše i sudbine. U čovjeka prešla je duša psa. Faiz to tako ne kaže. Možda u imaginariju njegova svijeta pas niti nema dušu. A možda stvari i ne treba dalje objašnjavati, tek Pašuka zvani Pašče prolajao je kao pas, i poživio je životom koji jest ljudski, ali jest bogme i pasji.
