About
Sworn to Uphold explores the story of an outstanding Air Force pilot who defends the nation’s capital and of his wife who works as a top-fl ight but devious advisor in the White House. Everything that one can ask for in a thriller is compressed into the nonstop action of this story. Heroism struggles for survival while ambition, infi delity, and doubledealing fill the lives of many of its characters. The story also features hair-breadth escapes when an order that would ground the pilot for alleged misconduct reaches his commander a few minutes late and when a terrorist outwits a brilliant detective who has almost fi gured out his plans. The ultimate result is even greater terror when the shattered limo with the President, accompanied by the pilot’s wife and children, is pursued by terrorists. At the same time, the pilot in his jet defends them from the terrorists with cannon fire and rockets. Love and honor have to battle for their rightful recognition even when the terrorists are defeated. Near the end, amid the snake-pit of the capital, the story makes its central theme of honor unequivocal. Aiming to destroy the President that he has saved, the pilot sets conditions to receive the nation’s ultimate award for heroism in a duel of wits that pits the pilot and the President against each other.
