Lingala learner's dictionary

Lingala learner's Dictionary is a bilingual dictionary(Lingala-English/English-Lingala) meant for Learners of Lingala language from anglophone background. It is a basic dictionary containing essential words and expressions of the Lingala language as used by native Lingala speakers. It contains four major sections which include the Preliminaries, Lingala-English section, Appendices, and English-Lingala section. The Preliminary section includes topics such as Background to Lingala language, Guide to Lingala pronunciation,some abbreviations etc. The Lingala-English section contains entries of Lingala-English essential words illustrated with examples. The English-Lingala section also contains entries of English-Lingala essential words illustrated with examples. The Appendix section covers twelve special topics which include Basic Lingala Grammar, more than 400 Lingala proverbs and sayings, Alphabetical List of Biblical Books, Word Formation Process in Lingala, Verb Tables, How to Translate Lingala Songs into English using a step by step approach. Franco's masterpiece "Candidat na Biso Mobutu" is used as an illustration.
