About
The author's 10 years of genealogical research into the Loud family in America, starting with Francis Loud (1649-1733) of Scotland who immigrated to Maine, USA about 1675. His son Francis Loud Jr. (1700-1774) and wife Honor T. Prince had 13 children so the author divided the book into 13 chapters (one for each child). Two children (10th and 11th) died in infancy so the author uses these two chapters "carry an explanation of the sources used and persons contacted to verify pictures and other information in the book."
