About
La gran carrera (The grand race) Is a silent album book full of images and characters full of life that tell us, without telling us anything, but without forgetting detail, an endless story. Life is like a great race: with climbs, with descents, with tangles, with days and nights, and new awakenings. It is a book with handmade pencil drawings that were then digitally composed for the pages of this book. That afternoon, I don't recall if it was summer, in the kitchen's table with my father, we painted it red and attached training wheels to my first bicycle. I was 4 years oldʺ ((HKB Translation) --Verso Cover. Author-artist Jorge Mato (Ca_teter) was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1977. This publication emerged from the winning project of the First Prize for illustration of children's and youth literature in Uruguay 2018.
