About
The countess of Mirecourt lives in the court of the Emperor Napoleon, and as the defeat of his armies, and his fall from the throne of France, is imminent, she realizes that the situation makes it imperative that she reunite with her family. Jacques Bonnier, an unrepentant bandit and womanizer, encounters her on the road, and, captivated by her beauty, puts off the chance to rob her and instead accompanies her on her journey. She, in spite of knowing what kind of man Jacques is, needs to be able to count on his help and entrusts herself to his valor in order to reach her destination.
