About
Nan Shin is a follower of a famous Zen monk, the late Taisen Deshimaru, and in this journal she describes life in the Master's dojo in Alsace, her worled travels on behalf of his spiritual community, her love of nature and her personal struggles with cancer.
These strands are interwoven to make a marvelous evocative hole; aphoristic, witty, moving and deeply spiritual. The spirit of Zen - mischievous, yet deeply derious, strenghtening and profound - infuses every page. Never has the spirit of 'Living Zen' been brought so vividly to life. The book is beautifully illustrated in black and white by Peter Watson.
