About
MacNeice's thesis on workers housing in Down and Armagh is one of the seminal works on the topic of industrial housing in Ireland. The thesis includes plans of workers housing from numerous villages including Bessbrook, Millford, Gilford and Dunbarton and also discusses the development of these sites and the associated facilities provided at each village. The author was heavily influenced by Chapman's book on slums and workers housing and has been influential of almost all studies of workers housing or industrial settlements in ireland.
