About
Emma Magin Bissell was born in 1887 in Syracuse, NY and moved to Rochester, NY at the age of two. On her wedding day (1/1/1918) she and her young husband Harry took a train to Whitefish, MT where they lived for one year until returning to Rochester to stay. She was a poet for a local newspaper called the Irondequoit Press and was deeply toched by nature. After this book was published Emma felt is was not perfect so it had very limited circulation. Most of her poems were written between midnight and six in the morning. She died in 1990, on her 103 birthday, and is buried next to her husband Harry in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rochester.
