In the book the author writes about four interconnected topics: 1. What is new about the New Economy and New Media? 2. What is a business model and how does New Media change existing business models? 3. What is a business model innovation and what kind of business model innovation can and will we observe in the digital economy? 4. How should we manage the new business models? The author was one of the first to coin the term: Business Model Innovation. Since it was only published in German, the book is merely unknown in the community outside the German speaking countries. The book is the Ph.D. thesis of the authors.
